Stevin began his financial services career in 1997 with American Express Financial Advisors (now known as Ameriprise Financial). After six years, he accepted a financial advisory position with MassMutual Financial Group. He then spent five years with People's Securities, Inc. a subsidiary of People's United Bank where he was able to share his knowledge and guide clients in pursuing their goals. In 2009, Stevin decided the independent advisory platform allowed him room to flourish, and so returned to his roots. Stevin practiced private wealth management with Northstar Wealth Partners from 2009 through early 2016 when he decided to launch his own company, Sound Choice Financial, LLC.
Stevin holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Universitsy of Connecticut in Political Science, with a minor in Criminology. Prior to attending college, Stevin served six years active duty in the US Coast Guard where his duties were Law Enforcement and Search & Rescue on the open seas. He then attended School at Tracen Petaluma, CA where the focus was on the medical profession. After graduation, he later studied at the Academey of Health Sciences in San Antonio, TX with a focus on Pharmacy, then served at the Coast Guard Academy Clinic in New London. After 9/11, Stevin felt a calling to serve and did so serving four more years in the US Coast Guard Reserves in Boston. Prior to his years in the Service, Stevin was an Electrician in Alaska and was fortunate enough to be able to work in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska alongside his father during the assembly of the Alaskan Pipeline in the mid 1980's.
He currently spends his free time being an involved Dad with his three teens' activities. He also has a love of fitness, nature, philosophy, Stoicism, the Arts and American Political History.
